Biomedical Engineer

Our client is a highly successful biomedical technology specialists and they support and manage over 100,000 items of biomed equipment across the UK. They are now seeking an experienced Engineer based at HCA Harborne Hospital in Birmingham to start in January. To apply, it is essential you have 2+ years of Biomed experience for this role and that you have worked in UK hospitals.

You will provide daily repair, preventative maintenance, and asset management of medical devices within various hospital locations whilst ensuring outstanding customer support and building long-term relationships.

Your role:

1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines.
2. Complete repairs as required on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines.
3. Complete associated admin needed to close repairs and PMs.
4. Travel to various sites as required to perform Corrective and Preventive Maintenance.
5. Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment.
6. Exceed contract KPI's to ensure customer satisfaction.
7. Maintain spare part stock wherever necessary.
8. Directly support the Site/Team Leader as needed.
9. Schedule and complete workload for assigned customers within area.
10. Maintain service documentation in line with business requirements.
11. Responsible for escalating and defining necessary resources to maintain equipment.
12. Responsible for delivering customer satisfaction.
13. Liaise with 3rd party suppliers for spare part and contract quotations.
14. Deal with OEM service staff and management when required.
15. Maintain tools and test equipment in line with company standards.
16. Attend customer meetings when required.
17. Seek opportunities to grow the business.
18. Review ways to improve productivity and reduce operating expenditure.

The person:

1. Ideally a minimum of 2 years Biomedical experience in a service and repair of medical equipment including Patient monitoring, diathermy's (electro surgery units), Theatre tables, Defibrillators, Infusion & volumetric devices, and Introduction to Anaesthesia equipment.
2. Familiarity with appropriate national and local regulatory standards.
3. Qualification in Engineering, electronics, or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering.
4. Field service experience.
5. Minimum of ONC in Electronics or equivalent.
6. Experience of working in clinical areas that involve patient communication.
7. Confident to work on various pieces of medical equipment.
