Job Description:

Mediplacements is recruiting for an experienced band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry for a locum role with our client located in Surrey.

The pay for this position is £23-£25 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration. 35 hours initially Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00 with 1 hr lunch. After training, the role will involve OOH (nights and weekend).

Must be HCPC registered. Our main analytical platforms in Biochemistry include the Ortho Vitro 5600 and XT3400, Sebia Hydrasys and Capillarys 2 flex, Optilite, Bio-rad D10, Beckman Coulter (Access II), Diasorin Liaison XL, and the Mic-PCR qPCR cycler for DPYD testing. It is not an essential requirement to have knowledge of these systems but desirable.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform laboratory tests, including routine and specialized tests in the Biochemistry Department
  2. Monitor and maintain quality control standards
  3. Interpret results accurately and provide reports to medical staff
  4. Maintain accurate records of tests performed, results obtained, and equipment used
  5. Troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments

The successful candidate must be HCPC registered and have experience in Biochemistry.
