Bid Coordinator / Bid Writer - Building / Construction - (Birmingham / Solihull / plus some REMOTE WORKING)

Company:
A growing regional building contractor with a longstanding history and a strong pipeline of work on predominately public sector building projects (Health, Education, Blue light etc). Previous experience in these sectors would be ideal but not essential.

Whilst previous main contractor experience would be advantageous, we are also open to consider candidates transferring experience from subcontractor or consultancies.

Location:
Mix of office (North Solihull - Near the NEC / Birmingham airport) and also some remote work (Likely 2 -3 days per week, plus flexible start / finish times).

Role:
Seeking a Bid Coordinator / Proposals Coordinator / Bid Writer, with an opportunity to play a key role working closely with the regional manager to help the company win more bids. As the sole Bid Coordinator / Writer for the region, it's an exciting opportunity to make the role your own and contribute significantly to the success of the region.

This position involves a mix of Bid Coordination and Bid Writing duties. While you do not need a long-term track record as a bid writer, you must be up for the challenge, possess good literacy and communication skills, and be able to collaborate with technical teams to convert verbal information into well-written content for bids that are easy to read for clients.

Some experience with InDesign would be advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties:
As Bid Coordinator / Bid Writer, your duties will include:

  1. Create professional, high-quality documentation for tender submissions as part of the overall win work strategy.
  2. Lead the writing and overall coordination of bid submissions.
  3. Manage the delivery of quality documentation for bid submissions in line with relevant tender deadlines.
  4. Develop and write technical & non-technical quality responses.
  5. Produce and format Expressions of Interest, approved lists & PQQs.
  6. Submit tender documents and maintain the bid library.
  7. Capture feedback to achieve continuous improvement.
  8. Monitor tender portals/shared mailboxes for new tender opportunities and communications around existing ones.
  9. Maintain an up-to-date record of case studies.
  10. Keep and maintain the CRM software.
  11. Work with the marketing team to develop marketing collateral and perform other administrative duties as required.

Requirements:
To be considered for this Bid Coordinator / Writer vacancy, you will likely have the following attributes:

  1. Strive for high quality and take pride in your work.
  2. Previous employment as a Bid Writer, Bid Manager, Proposals Manager, Proposals Engineer, Submissions Manager, Tender Writer, Bid Author, or Bid Coordinator.
  3. Ideally, previous main contractor employment; alternatively, candidates with experience from subcontractors and consultancies will also be considered.
  4. Experience in building/construction projects is ideal but not essential; candidates from similar sectors such as housing/residential or highways/civils will also be considered.
  5. Excellent English language (vocabulary), grammar, and communication skills.
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft and other desktop publishing software packages.
