Berkshire Head Coach

Berkshire Hockey Association (BHA) runs an active DC and AC program for the country. We typically have 500 youngsters involved each year as well as a thriving schools’ program. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Head Coach as part of the Berkshire County DC and AC programme.

The successful candidate will lead one of our junior cohorts and help develop our Assistant Coaches. This is a great opportunity for those who are passionate about hockey and coaching and are looking to expand their role, particularly working with junior players.

The Role:

• Working closely with the Director of Coaching to develop and deliver the coaching programs for junior players of all abilities and age ranges.
• Assessing and monitoring player performance, providing feedback and guidance to support player development.
• Supporting and attending matches and tournaments.
• Assisting with the recruitment and retention of junior players.
• Maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for players.
• Assisting the Director of Coaching as may be required.
• Providing input and ideas to help ensure that Berkshire Hockey provides the best possible support for hockey in the county.

You will bring:

• Experience of coaching junior players with a range of abilities.
• Relevant Qualifications (Ideally England Hockey Level 2…)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for hockey and developing and enthusing young players.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A good understanding of safeguarding requirements.

This is a part-time, self-employed role with the possibility of extra hours (to be agreed with you). The role will require weekend and evening work.
