Behavioural Support Worker

This specialist education and care service caters for young people aged 4-18 years with a range of needs. These include social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and complex needs such as attachment disorders, trauma or anxiety, a high functioning autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Location: Bristol

Pay: £13.68 per hour

Hours: Full time, part time

The School and Role

This specialist education and care service caters for young people aged 4-18 years with a range of needs. The role requires a Sports Coach / SEND Teaching assistant to transfer into a classroom setting, to work as a Behavioural Support Worker. This could be through P.E based activities and supporting in lessons such as food technology, Maths and English.

Set in Bristol, this school specialises in the education of students who have education health care plans for SEMH or have been permanently or temporarily excluded from mainstream school, due to being disengaged from education. Needs of students may include social, emotional and mental health difficulties and SEND including ASD, ADHD, PDA and attachment disorders, through a holistic therapeutic approach. Students are provided a calm and supportive environment in which they can develop and learn within a safe environment. You will be surrounded by a fantastic team, who have an unquestionable passion for the education and development of young people.

Requirements:

The desired Behavioural Support Worker will have:
  1. Experience of working with primary and secondary school aged children.
  2. Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
  3. A passion for the progress of pupils.
  4. An ability to work as part of a team.
  5. A driver's licence, car and business insurance.
  6. Experience working with behaviours that are challenging.
