Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Location: Exeter

Type: FULL TIME

Salary: £88.94 PER DAY

Requirements: MUST HAVE UK DRIVING LICENSE AND OWN CAR

At GSL Education, we are supporting an SEMH school in Exeter that is seeking Learning Mentors to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis with the potential to go permanent!

The school provides education to children across KS3-4 who cannot function in a mainstream setting and may have been excluded from their previous schools.

Every child receives a high level of support, often including one-to-one assistance and bespoke timetables following thematic learning experiences. A wide range of personalized learning both in and out of the classroom is designed to engage the student, build resilience, and provide the foundation for rapid academic progress.

All the children have SEMH and behavioral needs and may have other associated needs, including ADHD and Autism.

Responsibilities:
  • Guide students as a Learning Mentor, offering personalized guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop comprehensive support plans.
  • Foster a nurturing environment that promotes improved social interactions and communication skills.
  • Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement effective interventions to address behavior challenges and promote positive outcomes.
Requirements:
  • UK driving license with access to a car
  • Willingness to use the car for business purposes and have business insurance
  • Available ASAP on a full-time basis
  • Effective communication abilities
  • Demonstrated patience and empathy along with flexibility and adaptability
