Are you passionate about empowering students and promoting positive behavioural outcomes? GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join a local school based in Blandford immediately.

About the School:

The school supports students who have been excluded from mainstream education, which could be for a variety of reasons, such as behaviour, emotional dysregulation etc. The school therefore emphasises the importance of collaboration between staff, students, parents, and management for success. They pride themselves on being a happy and ambitious school that focuses on academic, social, and emotional enrichment. Their strong pastoral system provides support, guidance, and a secure environment for students to thrive and develop confidence. The school aims to nurture students' ambitions, ensuring they feel proud of their accomplishments and are prepared to contribute positively to society. The school also collaborates closely with the Dorset SEND team to swiftly identify and support pupil needs. Staff undergo regular training and updates on behaviour support strategies from various professionals and agencies. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting students in achieving their educational goals. Your role will involve working closely with students, teachers, and external professionals to ensure a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing targeted support to students to help manage and improve behaviour.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to develop and maintain positive classroom environments.
  • Assisting in crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working with children or young people, particularly in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
