Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Blackpool

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm

Pay rates: £83.85 - £100

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a teaching assistant to provide support to pupils with additional learning needs. You will be working with pupils that are between the ages of 11-16. Support will be given on a 1:1 basis and within small groups. You will need to engage with students with challenging behaviours, being able to remove their barriers to learn and build relationships.

Children who have additional learning needs can present challenging behaviour. You should be competent in giving support to pupils to manage their behaviour, emotions, and help them develop their social skills. You will be a part of a bigger team, so being able to work with other staff members is also important.

A large part of this role would include using sports as interventions for the pupils. Any experience with coaching or qualifications in sports are highly recommended to apply for this role.

Candidate qualities:

  • Reliable and flexible; jobs can be made available on short notice.
  • Confident, with an approachable manner and outgoing personality.
  • Relevant experience in a similar field.
  • Enthusiasm to work with pupils who need additional time to progress.
  • Demonstrates great behavioural management skills.
  • Sporting background.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • EWC registration (or willingness to apply).
  • Ability to provide two recent references.
  • Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, and in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
