Long - Term Teachers are seeking to appoint an experienced teaching assistant, who is confident to support a resource class within a mainstream school. You will be working with students in key stage 1 and 2, who have a special educational need, this includes learning, physical and social, emotional, mental health needs. You must be adaptable, caring and patient along with a hardworking work ethic. You will be working alongside other TAs; however, you must be able to use initiative to carry out tasks independently.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-on-one or group mentoring sessions to students
  2. Assist students with understanding and applying mathematical concepts
  3. Develop and implement physical education activities to promote fitness and well-being
  4. Support preschool-aged children in their early learning and development
  5. Provide tutoring in various subjects, including applied behaviour analysis techniques
  6. Offer guidance and care for toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being
  7. Educate students with special needs, adapting teaching methods to meet individual requirements
  8. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other educational professionals
  9. Collaborate with teachers to create personalized learning plans for students
  10. Utilize your knowledge of early childhood education principles to enhance the learning experience

Requirements:

  1. Strong background in mathematics, physical education, or related fields
  2. Experience working with preschool-aged children or toddlers is preferred
  3. Familiarity with applied behaviour analysis techniques is a plus
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  5. Passion for educating and mentoring individuals of all ages
  6. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student
  7. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards learning

The position is full time, working Monday to Friday, term time only.
