We are currently seeking full-time/permanent staff for one of our challenging yet fantastic Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Schools located in Hailsham.
This reputable SEMH Provision caters for primary and secondary pupils who are unable to gel into mainstream education due to mental health needs stemming from child trauma and PTSD.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be on the front line, ensuring pupils' academic and emotional needs are met and maintaining positive behaviour in the classroom. Many pupils will have low self-esteem and find it difficult engaging in lessons and activities; your main duty will be to ensure their emotional and academic needs are met and help them reach their full potential!
The role can be very demanding both physically and mentally, which requires a high level of resilience in order to be successful. Pupils will challenge staff, so having a great sense of humour, being able to maintain authority, and building professional relationships are non-negotiable skills for this role.
