BAR MANAGER

PRINCESS RISBOROUGH

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced live-in Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of the bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to maintaining high standards. You will take the business forward on re-opening, working with the whole team to deliver the day-to-day running of the bar, creating a fun, upbeat, and welcoming atmosphere while ensuring high quality of service.

You will be working for one of the UK's fastest growing, exciting hospitality companies. The group truly respects their staff and has grown a highly successful team over many years in the industry.

Surrounded by the scenic Chiltern Hills countryside and offering a charming historic town centre, the pub is a newly refurbished market square bar.

Qualifications

  1. Previous experience in a similar role within the licensed trade and be able to demonstrate excellent multi-tasking, communication, management, and customer service skills.
  2. A recognised hospitality qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  3. High energy with a passion for sports and music.

Responsibilities

  1. Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a high standard of customer management at all times, ensuring customer experience exceeds expectations.
  2. Take responsibility for the set-up and effective operation of the Bars.
  3. Ensure that opening and closing procedures are adhered to, in line with company policy, taking account of security and the health & safety of people and property.
  4. Till Operation, Cash Handling, and daily/weekly cash reconciliation.
  5. Accurate maintenance of Fire Safety Logs.
  6. Maximise all sales opportunities in the business, including quality product, service, entertainment, and promotions.
  7. Rota-planning/adjustments, taking the necessary daily action to reduce/increase hours in line with sales.
  8. Manage all delivery processes, including checking in orders, storage, stock rotation, security, loss investigation, and staff training.
  9. Keep up to date with current industry trends. Regularly create drinks/cocktail lists, products, and events that are new and inspiring.
  10. Follow company security procedures at all times including procedures for the security of staff and premises.
  11. Carry out risk assessments to ensure staff and customers' safety.
  12. Monitor and manage all maintenance issues and manage third-party contractors.
  13. Be aware of and adhere to licensing, data protection, Health & Safety at Work, and COSHH legislation at all times.

Employee Management

  1. Manage the bar team, motivating and leading the team and identifying training needs.
  2. Performance management of staff in line with company standards.
  3. Manage the day-to-day attendance of staff in line with company sickness and absence management policies and procedures.
  4. Take an active role in the operation of company recruitment, disciplinary, grievance, and other personnel procedures as required.

General

  1. Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws.
  2. Carry out any duties as instructed by Senior Management and head office in accordance with the scope and responsibilities of this role.
