Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Bar Manager to lead our bar team and ensure an exceptional guest experience at The William Gunn - our premium traditional London Style Pub & Kitchen in the affluent suburb of West Bridgford, Nottingham.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bartending and food safety, along with a passion for culinary excellence. As Assistant Bar Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager, oversee daily operations, manage staff, and maintain high standards of service and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Supervise bar staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised bar area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate food production and service.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to avoid shortages.
- Train new staff on bartending techniques, food safety practices, and customer service standards.
- Deliver excellent table service.
- Be fully cocktail and barista trained.
- Develop creative drink menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address any concerns promptly to enhance the dining experience.
Experience
- Previous experience in a bar management role or similar supervisory position within the hospitality industry is essential.
- Strong knowledge of bartending techniques, food preparation, and culinary practices.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and customers alike.
