Team/Role Overview

The Banking, International & Client Control Testing Automation Initiatives Lead is an expert on data-based control and control testing digitization and automation techniques with great familiarity with existing and emerging technologies around data management and data analytics and will interact with senior managers at Director or Managing Director levels.

This position reports to the Services, Markets, Banking/ International & Client Control Testing Automation Initiatives Head within the Control Testing Utility; and is a strategic- and execution-oriented senior role accountable for identifying and delivering control testing automation initiatives within their scope.

Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Responsible for supporting Services, Markets, Banking/ International & Client Control Testing Automation Initiatives Head on control testing automation related tasks, including interaction with other automation leaders within the larger organization and key control execution contacts within covered businesses and functions. Responsible for supporting the Services, Markets, Banking/ International & Client Control Testing Automation Initiatives Head on handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work across the team/project.

What you’ll do

1. Supports the Services, Markets, Banking/ International & Client Controls Testing Utility by providing support on the design and implementation of automated control monitoring and testing tools.
2. Serves as key subject matter expert on control testing automation initiatives.
3. Leads the control testing automation pipeline management, being responsible for prioritizing initiatives, escalating any blocks and continuously forecasting the work effort.
4. Engages the In-Business Controls team, colleagues in the Control Testing Utility and Control Owners to review Processes, Risks and Controls and gain a thorough understanding of the expected control monitoring and testing tools, analyzing and defining an executable automated solution.
5. Conducts research as required on data availability, including location, format and access needed for the target data.
6. Maintains relationships and drives accountability with directs, partners, and stakeholders to drive control testing's success in support of the business's strategy.
7. Prepares for the rollout and validates the reports that are provided by the automation team on an escalated basis, determining if the results are acceptable and as planned for the tool.
8. Validate initial results and perform a hand-off to monitoring and testing analysts and make sure that control testing procedures are validated for accuracy.
9. Serves as liaison with testing analyst and automation team on any issues that may occur with the automation after the rollout for escalations.
10. Maintains the automation dashboard for Banking, International & Client ensuring timeliness and quality of projects being delivered.
11. Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
12. Supports other relevant work efforts of the department where needed and as directed by their manager.

What we’ll need from you

1. Proven experience developing automated solutions and applications in financial services.
2. Significant experience in one or more Banking, International or Client products and services.
3. Strong risk and control awareness with a good understanding of Managers Control Assessment frameworks.
4. Subject matter expert on data management and reporting.
5. Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS SharePoint.
6. In-depth experience with tools such as JIRA, FDR, IBS, Eclipse, and Workflow Management tools preferred.
7. Excellent people and relationship management skills with the ability to influence others and foster a sense of collaboration.
8. Effective communication, written and presentation skills.
9. Exemplary analytical and continuous improvement skills.
10. Independent thinker and able to perform a credible challenge of businesses/functions.
11. Ability to work effectively on virtual teams, including across different geographies and time zones preferred.
12. University degree.
