Job responsibilities

If you care for others without a second thought and are looking for a rewarding career where you can make a difference and change lives for the better, then a Bank Senior Support Worker role at Community Houses could be the right choice for you. You’ll receive training to join the team where you will be valued and supported, with career development opportunities available. It’s a career that you can take pride in while enjoying the satisfaction of helping people and seeing them improve. Our Care Home service, known as Community Houses, has rapidly expanded with 4 sites across Keighley that offer a step-down service to adults with complex mental health needs. You will help our Service Users to carry out routine daily tasks - everything from help with cooking, cleaning, activities in the community and encouraging independent living in their future. You will even have day trip visits to the seaside with service users as part of this role. What you will be doing: You will join a team that works well together to provide care to patients with mental health conditions; supporting people to lead a valued and fulfilled life. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week because of you. We can offer you flexible working - you will work 12.5 hour days, on a 0 hour contract. Where you will be working: Location: Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven and Cowling, Yorkshire. We provide support for adults with complex mental health needs who have often been discharged from more secure environments. With 21 beds across 4 Community Houses and situated in the semi-rural areas of Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven and Cowling, the services are ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the community. A driving licence is not essential for the role, but due to the location of the services, please ensure that you are able to commute on public transport if living out of area. Many existing staff that live in and around Keighley, Steeton and Colne use public transport very successfully. Day shifts start at 7:35am.

  • Two-week paid induction
  • Free parking
  • Mandatory training to ensure you are fully able to do your job at the best of your ability.
  • Wellbeing support and activities to help you maintain a great work-life balance.
