We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Wayland, a category C prison located in Thetford, Norfolk. This is a fantastic entry route into a Pharmacy in a unique environment, with lots of opportunities for training and career development!

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.What you'll be doingAs a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Provide high quality support to the supply, preparation and assembly of medicines under the direction of the Responsible Pharmacist, contributing to services such as medicines reconciliation, managing stock medicines, safe transportation of medicines, and providing support to a safe and secure medicines administration service whilst following policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Deliver non-judgemental and patient-centred care. You will make a real difference as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare and pharmacy professionals supported through our bespoke Health in Justice Competency frameworks, policies and protocols, and always considering safeguarding.

Our new Pharmacy Assistant will have:- An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
- Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential
- Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
