Join a forward-thinking healthcare provider as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, working alongside skilled professionals. You'll be involved in delivering patient-centered care, enhancing your skills in a supportive setting. With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, this organization values each individual's contribution. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll have the chance to make a real difference in patients' lives while developing your career in Occupational Therapy. If you're passionate and motivated, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Come and join us at University Hospitals Sussex Occupational Therapy Department!
We are looking to build a bank of Occupational Therapy Assistants who can work part-time hours for us as required. This would be potentially across any of our sites and any of our teams, but focussed on the Royal Sussex County Hospital Brighton, Princess Royal Hospital Haywards Heath and Newhaven Rehab. The posts would ideally suit Occupational Therapy students who have 2-3 days per week where they are available to work and gain experience in different teams whilst training as an OT.
Bank hours are not guaranteed each week and you may be asked to move around different teams as we will use our bank staff to cover vacancies in teams, but as a Bank staff member you can also say how many hours you can offer and where your preferred site would be.
Previous bank staff who have been OT students have gone on to find band 5 jobs with UHS so the job is a great way for you to find out what UHS OT is like to work for whilst gaining valuable experience along the way.
We are looking for passionate, creative and motivated individuals who have excellent communication, time management and organisational skills required to work in a fast-paced environment.
We offer:
At UHSussex, diversity is our strength, and we want you to feel included to help us always put the Patient First. Your uniqueness and experiences will be part of our creative and innovative community where everyone is encouraged to succeed. We have a range of Staff Networks to help break down barriers, and can offer a buddy to help new members settle in. We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) and a Veteran Aware Trust.
We treat our patients and staff with the same compassion and empathy we expect for ourselves. We're here for them when they need us, and we go above and beyond to meet their needs. This can be seen in our Wellbeing Programme for staff which is extensive and designed to support you when you need it, including where possible, flexible working to support work life balance - because we know that to look after others we must first look after ourselves.
As a university trust and a leader in healthcare research, we value learning, teaching and training so that we can be the best that we can be. From the moment you start with us and throughout your career we will help you to grow and develop. We hope that in choosing UHSussex you are choosing a long and happy career where you will be able to see the difference you make and feel valued for all that you do.
We look forward to receiving your application and the start of your journey with UHSussex.
