We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP & YOI Hollesley Bay, a category D Prison located in the village of Hollesley, near Woodbridge in Suffolk.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.
Hours

The site currently offers a mix of shift patterns.

Monday to Fri: 07:00 - 17:00 or 08:30 - 18:30

Weekends & Bank Holidays: 07:00 - 17:00

Salary
You'll receive a bank hourly rate of £22.90.

What you'll be doing

As a Bank Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
  • Assess patient's health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
  • Share knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.

Qualifications required:
  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work, and awareness of substance misuse

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
