Bank Band 4 Nursing Associate & Bank Band 5 Community Nurse

Morning registration: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (We won't accept candidates for the morning session after this time)

Afternoon registration: 12:30 - 13:00 pm (We won't accept candidates for the afternoon session after this time)

Afternoon Interview: 13:00 - 16:00 pm

Role: Bank Band 4 Nursing Associate & Bank Band 5 Community Nurse

The event is an all-day event. Candidates need to register for either the morning session or the afternoon session. Failure to register during the registration periods will mean inability to take part in the interview.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic person who has excellent communication, IT literacy, and problem-solving skills alongside a passion for patient-centered care. You will work corporately within our Primary Care Team and will be supporting the Community Nurses in Bedford and the wider MDT to provide high-quality care to housebound residents who live with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and assist colleagues in covering service needs, which will include working across the wider integrated team. Access to a car in order to carry out service duties is essential.

A full induction programme will be provided.

The Community Nursing Service operates between 08:00 to 21:00 hours and the working pattern will include a variety of rotational shifts which will include weekend, evening, and Bank Holiday working.

  • Car Driver
  • Motivated to provide the highest standards of care in a changing service
  • Able to work on an internal rotation shift basis and flexible working
  • Awareness of equal opportunities in the workplace
  • Able to work within the accountability framework with personal integrity

Education/Qualification/Training

  • NMC Registered Nursing Associate
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
  • Registered General Nurse
  • Community experience

Experience

  • Work experience relevant to the post
  • Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of methods to develop culturally sensitive practice
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
  • Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in the context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
  • Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
  • Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and monitor care
