Aspen Court Nursing & Dementia Nursing Home is a modern, purpose-built home in the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, offering high-quality Dementia and Nursing care for up to 42 residents.

Are you a compassionate and creative individual who loves making a difference in people’s lives? We are looking for an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our care home team and support residents in leading fulfilling and engaging lives.

About the Role:

As an Activities Assistant, you will work closely with the Activity Coordinator and care team to create a stimulating and enjoyable environment for our residents. Your role will be to support residents in engaging in meaningful activities that promote emotional, social, physical, and intellectual well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in planning and delivering a range of engaging activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
2. Encourage participation in activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
3. Work alongside the care team to ensure every resident has access to appropriate occupation and leisure activities.
4. Maintain records of activities, ensuring all participation is documented in care plans.
5. Assist with outings and events, ensuring risk assessments are completed.
6. Support residents in maintaining connections with family and friends through visits, WhatsApp, and Zoom calls.
7. Promote equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice at all times.
8. Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

1. A caring, friendly, and patient individual with a passion for enriching the lives of others.
2. Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
3. Organised and creative, with good communication skills.
4. Willingness to attend training as required.
5. Commitment to promoting residents’ dignity, independence, and well-being.
6. A full driving licence.
