Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to: The post holder should be an autonomous practitioner and an expert clinician in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with musculoskeletal injury who are referred by GPs. They are to develop and maintain skills required to work at a Clinical Specialist level within physiotherapy as acknowledged by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. They are to be aware of the boundaries of their own practice and are to manage the associated clinical risk effectively at all times. They are to be responsible for the management of training needs which arise from such role development.
