An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to join their dynamic neurorehabilitation team. This full-time role offers the chance to work with a diverse patient population, providing essential psychological support and rehabilitation following neurological conditions. You will be part of a dedicated team that values clinical psychology and focuses on patient wellbeing. Opportunities for professional development and flexible working arrangements make this position particularly appealing. If you are passionate about making a difference in patients' lives and thrive in a collaborative environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Are you a qualified (or soon to be qualified) Clinical Psychologist interested in working in physical health or neuropsychology and rehabilitation? Do you enjoy working within skilled and enthusiastic interdisciplinary teams who value clinical psychology and hold the wellbeing of their clients at the centre of their rehabilitation? Come and work with us at the Royal Free Neurological Centre in Edgware, North London. This is a full-time role in our 14 bedded level 2 neurorehabilitation unit which offers bespoke, goal-centred rehabilitation to people following stroke, brain injury and other neurological conditions. Clinical psychology is an essential and highly valued part of the dedicated and knowledgeable interdisciplinary teams. The NRC has a small clinical psychology team and clinical supervision will be provided by the 8b principal clinical psychologist working on the unit and there are also opportunities to work with an experienced clinical psychologist in the co-located community neuro team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in Neurorehabilitation and multidisciplinary working. Although this post is advertised full-time, flexible working patterns are available and part-time hours may be considered for those with experience in these settings. We welcome informal conversations and visits from any interested applicant.
Direct clinical work includes assessment, rehabilitation and therapy with individuals, families and wider social networks, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches guided by client needs. There are opportunities to deliver group interventions to support recovery, adjustment and coping following a neurological injury or diagnosis. Consultation and guidance to the wider team and networks around the person affected is an integral part of the role, as is close joint working in support of patients' goals. You will have opportunities to have input into service development, QI, teaching and training sessions. No two days are the same! You join a neuropsychology team based in the Neurosciences Directorate of the Royal Free London NHS Hospitals Trust. Our ethos is for every member of the team to grow as a clinician, a leader and to be supported to maintain their wellbeing. We meet regularly for journal clubs, complex case discussions and teaching and welcome colleagues bringing their own areas of specialist interest or skills into our team. Clinical supervision is provided by experienced, senior clinical neuropsychologists, and part-funding and supervision is available for colleagues wishing to pursue the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN). We have close links with the North Thames DClinPsy training courses and encourage colleagues to participate in developing future clinical neuropsychologists by offering placements, and mentorship.
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's biggest and most innovative trusts. As a clinician you will be embedded within your MDT and the neuropsychology department and simultaneously also belong to a group of over 40 Psychological Therapies & Counselling (PT&C) colleagues who work within a variety of medical specialties across the Trust (including Cancer & Palliative Care, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diabetes, HIV, ICU, Immunology and Rare Disease, Nephrology and Liver Transplantation, Neurology, Pain, Plastic Surgery, Respiratory, and Women's Health). Priorities for the PT&C leads are ensuring each clinician has the support necessary for their role, including access to varied specialist supervision, line management and professional development. They actively work to create a PT&C community that encourages dialogue, learning from each other and mutual support, and showcasing good practice, innovation, and research. We welcome new staff who share our values of working together and supporting each other to join us in the PT&C community.
