Salary: £42,939 - £50,697 per annum inclusive of HCAS, pro-rata

As a junior sister/charge nurse, you will be required to have well-developed triage skills and experience coordinating different areas of the emergency department including the resuscitation areas.

Main duties of the job

As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be required to support the senior and junior team in ensuring the needs of our patients are met through the delivery of high-quality care. The role involves working as part of a large multidisciplinary team including the ED medical team, clinical practice educators safeguarding, mental health liaison team, and clinical specialties.

Person specification

Education & Qualifications

  • Emergency care course or equivalent
  • Mentorship or practice assessor course or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development
  • ALS or ATLS
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload
  • Basic counseling skills – ability to understand the needs of the bereaved
  • Able to act as a mentor to junior staff

Experience

  • Demonstrates clinical expertise relevant to ED
  • Post registration of working in an acute hospital
  • Evidence of teaching others
  • Experience of managing a team
