We are looking for dynamic and intuitive Band 5 Staff Nurses to come and join our team. We are looking for individuals who have the enthusiasm for delivering world class care to patients and their families, a reliable work record and the desire to learn and further develop their skills. You will need to be self-motivated, and possess excellent clinical care and skills.

Main duties of the job

Princess Alexandra Ward is a 35 bedded surgical ward, delivering high quality care to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgery.

The post holder will work under the supervision of the ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care and staff development.

  1. To be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of student nurses and unqualified staff on the ward.
  2. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care with provisions of preceptorship/mentorship.
  3. To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.
