We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and dynamic team in North Kent!
As a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll be working as part of the NHS system in North Kent where we deliver community services to adults across Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Swale.
You will be based primarily in Gravesham Community Hospital where we have clinics available for outpatient appointments and also cover some community inpatient wards. Gravesham Community Hospital is located a short distance from St Georges Shopping Centre and is surrounded by well-known food establishments and local coffee shops making it an ideal location to be based from.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) position and due to travel required for the role a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.

Main Responsibilities
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, therapy and advice for patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders. You will support patients to reach their potential and live their lives to the full. You will be able to experience working with patients with a wide range of diagnoses in order to develop your skills. There are opportunities to develop specialist skills in the areas where you are most passionate, for example working with patients with neurological conditions or head and neck cancer.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have a BSc Hons or recognised degree equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and be a registered member of Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential. You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
