Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapist

(Minimum 6 months NHS experience is mandatory)

Base: Midlands Partnership Trust
Pay Rates: £18 to £22 per hour
Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement
Contract Duration: 15/04/2025 to 31/05/2025

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) provides integrated health and social care services across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, and surrounding areas. The Trust focuses on mental health, physical health, and learning disabilities, offering community-based, inpatient, and specialist care to enhance well-being and recovery.

Job Overview:
We have an opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the physical health teams in the Midlands. We are looking for individuals with a professional approach, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude towards multidisciplinary team working and person-centred care.

The rotation currently includes 9 months on sub-acute physical health rehabilitation wards at the Evington Centre and 9 months with the Home First and Community Therapy Service. Future plans include expanding the rotation to cover additional areas.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Gain a wide range of clinical skills across both physical and community settings

  • Support discharge and patient flow within inpatient units

  • Apply OT skills to improve patient outcomes in inpatient and community settings

  • Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team

  • Carry an agreed caseload in the community, with supervision from senior staff

  • Adapt to a variety of settings and patient needs, delivering person-centred care

Requirements:

  • Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating a range of conditions

  • Ability to develop and implement effective rehabilitation and discharge plans

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Experience with community-based pathways is advantageous
