Job summaryA prime chance to take your career to the next level with the role of Band 5 - Pathology Business Unit Business Analyst for a 6 month fixed term secondment.
The post holder will hold the position of Business Analyst, reporting to the Quality Data manager of the Pathology Business Unit and Finance Business Partner of the Pathology Business Unit, to provide comprehensive and efficient data analytic and administrative support.
The post holder should have good technical skills in Microsoft Excel and good SQL and Power BI knowledge.
Main duties of the job- Collecting data and submitting to internal and external department/organisations within required deadline.
- To ensure that regular, timely and accurate information is provided to PBU by the application of appropriate collection and presentation techniques to data extracted from any of the Trust's patient-based information systems. This will involve determining the requirements of the Divisional staff and managers concerned and then working with the Trust's Information team to extract and collate data, and then to present this information in an appropriate form.
- Liaising with the clinical and non-clinical teams regarding required data and submitting reports.
- The post holder will be also responsible for validation, collecting data from the system and populating/updating data template within deadlines.
- Communication with other members of the administrative team.

Job descriptionJob responsibilities- Should be able to analyse large datasets, proficient with contract/activity monitoring techniques and produce analysis of finance information for month-end purposes.
- Will manage invoice reconciliation, process payments, and produce accrual and prepayment schedules to ensure accurate reporting onto the finance ledger.
- Will be responsible for monitoring, updating and managing the Activity and KPI monitoring templates using Power BI.
Person SpecificationEducation and qualificationsEssential- Working toward a finance or accounting degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrable continued professional development and understanding of GDS best practice
- Excel certification
- Good understanding of a range of project and business improvement methodologies and tools.
Desirable- Working towards a Finance or accounting Degree
KnowledgeEssential- Knowledge of Power BI
- Knowledge of SQL
- Good understanding of the challenges faced by the NHS
- Excellent understanding of Data analysis & activity reconciliation.
