We are looking for a motivated and skilled Retail Catering Coordinator to join our Catering team across UHB sites, including Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Heartlands Hospital, and Solihull Hospital. This role is essential in delivering high-quality, sustainable, and nutritious meals in our retail and hospitality services, ensuring the highest standards in food safety, staff training, and operational efficiency.

Staff Training and Development: Lead and update training for retail catering staff (Bands 1-4) on food hygiene, safety, and procedures during induction.
Staff Management: Conduct annual appraisals, set goals, and support development, maintaining accurate records as per Trust policies.
Absence Management: Manage sickness absences in line with Trust policies, keeping records and addressing patterns with HR.
Financial and Operational Oversight: Analyse trading data, manage stock, and address budget discrepancies with senior management.
Compliance: Ensure all areas meet food safety and hygiene standards, collaborating with infection control teams.
Collaboration: Provide guidance on food services, staying informed on product updates via supplier collaboration.
Policy and Project Management: Contribute to catering policies and lead projects to enhance services, improve income, and align with budgets.
Key Skills and Experience:
*Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams in retail or catering, preferably in healthcare. Skilled in training and motivating staff.
*Food Safety Expertise: In-depth knowledge of regulations, ensuring compliance and hygiene.
*Operational Management: Skilled in stock control, budgets, and financial oversight, optimizing efficiency.
*Communication: Effective collaboration with teams, management, and suppliers.
*Problem-Solving: Proactive in addressing challenges and implementing solutions.
*Financial Awareness: Experienced in managing records and ensuring compliance
