£36,650 to £39,032 per annum - the band minimum is the normal starting pay for those new to a role. In exceptional circumstances, when relevant skills and experience can be identified, a higher starting salary may be considered.

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an exceptional Aviation Compliance Manager to join our Air Unit team. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. We employ experts from many different professions to carry out our Science as well as keep the lights on, feed the research and support teams, and keep everyone safe!

You'll be joining our Air Unit, which supports the BAS mission and goals through the operation of five aircraft across the globe, principally in Antarctica and Europe. You will help us to deliver safe aviation operations by ensuring that it continues to meet regulatory regulations and standards and operates within an environment of positive safety culture and continual improvement.
Within the role, there will be an opportunity to develop an understanding of operating aircraft in unusual and sometimes challenging environments, as well as to support aviation safety management and the maintenance of aircraft in accordance with Aircraft Management Programmes. The growth of uncrewed aircraft in Antarctica and other regions is also an exciting area of development which will require your involvement.
