Your new opportunity

A fantastic new opportunity has become available for an experienced, enthusiastic, future focused and driven Automotive Trainer to join our Automotive Services team in a full-time permanent role.

As an Automotive Trainer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality training, support, and operational development within RAA’s Motoring Departments. Working closely with stakeholders, you will identify skill gaps and implement training solutions that enhance operational functionality, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

You will be instrumental in:

  • Planning, developing, and delivering training programs using various methods, including eLearning, face-to-face, and virtual training.
  • Ensuring training content is up-to-date and aligns with business requirements and member entitlements.
  • Conducting on-road task observations to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Providing technical training on systems, technology, and customer service skills to support business needs.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of Road Service Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, reporting any deficiencies.
  • Collaborating with national training forums, including NATG (National Automotive Training Group).
  • Supporting motoring department managers with staff recruitment, induction, and development.

At RAA, we hire on cultural add first and technical fit second! However, to be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanic or Automotive Electrician (mandatory).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly desirable).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Articulate, and PowerPoint to develop training materials.
  • Experience in video production and editing for training.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with effective presentation abilities.
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and adaptability to changing circumstances, processes, and technologies.
  • Knowledge of Road Traffic Act, Australian Design Rules, and contemporary training principles.
  • Experience in developing and delivering eLearning materials.
