adi Lean Manufacturing and Design - Design Engineer

Location: Tyburn, Birmingham

About the Role

As a Design Engineer, you will collaborate with the current engineering team to design jigs and fixtures, assembly benches, as well as semi-automated and automated production cells. Your expertise will be integral in optimising our clients' manufacturing processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Working with the lean manufacturing and design team to design machinery for the automotive, aerospace, and other industries related to the services provided by the division.
2. Designing fixtures, jigs, assembly benches, and semi-automated to fully automated machines to assist customers in their manufacturing processes.
3. Issuing manufacturing drawings and coordinating with the workshop.
4. Following up with manufacturing to ensure accurate interpretation of drawings and successful project execution.
5. Overseeing project commissioning.
6. Liaising with customers to build and maintain relationships.
7. Ensuring that all designs for projects meet company standards.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have:

1. Experience with SolidWorks and PDM.
2. Extensive experience in a design or mechanical engineering role is essential.
3. Experience with Catia V5 in Mechanical Design is an added advantage.
4. Attention to detail.
5. A proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks.
6. A full UK driving license.
