Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for an Automotive Facility Layout Designer at one of our major automotive clients, supporting the installation of a new battery assembly line. This role offers outstanding exposure to the latest technologies and manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Layout of factory cells and production lines, requiring strong knowledge of facilities including:
    • Components and equipment
    • Civil structure
    • Steelwork
    • Pipework
    • HVAC ducts and components
    • Instrumentation
    • Electrical cable trays, boxes, and cabinets
  • Supports:
    • Carrying out detailed 2D and 3D modeling activities to support the Layout team in answering site queries.
    • Carrying out detailed 2D drawings to support the installation team to consider site adaptations.
    • Answering or contributing to site requests by gathering inputs, providing technical analysis and justification, liaising with engineering back-offices if needed, and evaluating the impacts of the request on different disciplines.
    • Performing 2D-3D checks when needed.
    • Contributing to the production of any technical documents requested to support construction (e.g., Equipment Location Book, Layout Dummy Bedplate Drawing, Review of Anchorages for Equipment).

Qualifications:

  • Design office experience with knowledge of several areas of engineering (pipework, electricity, HVAC, civil engineering).
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector.
  • Experience in plant layout engineering.
