Automation Test Lead

Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.

Location: Ideally Cardiff or Fareham but we’re flexible/Hybrid.

What will you be doing?

The Retail Test Team is part of our wider Digital and Proposition team, working collaboratively to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer outcomes. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality outputs, ensuring our Broker partners and customers receive the best possible products and experiences.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead a team to deliver testing outcomes and goals, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
2. Manage both workflow and people within the team, leading by example and supporting team members in their work and personal development.
3. Provide day-to-day support and guidance, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
4. Plan, monitor, coordinate, and execute automated testing for Product Scheme builds.
5. Support development initiatives and enhance Quality Assurance processes.
6. Create and maintain test tools, test data, and result calculators.
7. Investigate and resolve defects.
8. Build and maintain relationships with external partners and internal business functions.
9. Ensure governance, processes, and audit procedures are followed.

Your skills and experience:

1. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
2. Proficiency in Excel, with good to advanced skills.
3. Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
4. Previous experience in a rate or product testing role.
5. Commitment to accuracy and high-quality work.
6. Effective communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
7. Self-sufficiency, initiative, and independent thinking skills.
8. Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
9. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
10. Knowledge of scripting languages for test automation.
11. Experience working with cross-functional teams.
12. Understanding of insurance products and industry standards.
