Length of role : These are permanent roles - the customer contract is for 3 years with the opportunity to change client sites after 3 years.
Role Overview :
We are seeking numerous automation testers, at all levels, junior through to senior test leads. The Automation Test Analyst will develop and implement the test automation suite in-line with Enterprise Test Automation Guardrails to support functional and system testing which make up the Department’s core business processing systems. They also prepare, manage and review technical testing documentation, ensuring relevant strategies and plans follow best practice and management of risks are considered. They provide leadership support and training on technical testing processes by working closely with other automation test analysts to achieve testing outcomes.
The Automation Test Analyst will work in an agile / iterative environment and undertake specialist or technical research and analysis activities. They identify opportunities for automation within software processes, using scripts that test functionality through analysis, test preparation, test execution, test data management, defect management, and technical troubleshooting activities. They will communicate across a range of channels, using various styles to suit different audiences and understand and embrace the agency’s various ways of working and are agile in their approach for collaboration and delivery of services.
Job Responsibilities :
- Develop, maintain, execute, and review test scripts, requirements, and artefacts, ensuring alignment with design analysis and standards.
- Analyze and estimate scripts, track progress, manage resources, and report variances to meet project deliverables.
- Raise and manage defects, identifying failure points and organizing issue investigations.
- Contribute to testing strategies, plans, risk assessments, specifications, and reports.
- Optimize and maintain test automation frameworks, identifying key tests for ROI improvement.
- Apply project management principles to testing objectives, outcomes, and budget recommendations.
- Collaborate with manual testers, developers, and analysts for efficient test planning and automation delivery.
- Coach and mentor testers, providing training to enhance manual and automation skills.
- Monitor and streamline testing processes, procedures, and defect queues for efficiency.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships and professional networks to support project goals.
- Provide leadership, performance planning, and succession strategies, fostering team development.
- Drive business improvement strategies and change initiatives to achieve agency objectives.
To be successful, you will have :
- Junior Automation Testers must have a minimum of 1 years' experience in automation testing.
- Automation Test Analyst must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in automation testing.
- Senior Automation Test Analyst must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in automation testing.
- Automation Test Lead must have a minimum of 8 years' experience in automation testing and demonstrated leadership experience.
- All levels will be expected to have relevant ICT qualifications.
- A track record of being delivery-focused and successfully completing projects.
- Proficiency in working with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to tailor communication to respective audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within agile teams and contribute positively as a team player.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality with an enterprise-wide vision.
