We are currently recruiting for an Automation Technician to join our brilliant team.

As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and daily fault repair of remotely controlled switchgear and associated equipment, including all communications systems that support this within the electrical distribution up to 11kv.

You will:

• Be responsible for installing and commissioning automation schemes.
• Monitor and supervise contractors throughout the Ridgeway region.
• Fault find, repair, and maintain automation defects on a daily basis, using multiple manufacturer equipment to assist with this.
• Maintain and install automation electrical equipment on the electricity network up to 11,000 volts, ensuring works are completed within specific time frames and the network is restored to normal operation as soon as possible. This will also include emergency response to fault scenarios.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures as safety is a key priority at SSE.

You have:

• The ability to effectively manage your own work program.
• A keen desire to learn and develop your role, with knowledge of the automation currently installed.
• SSEN operational authorisations CAT 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7.
• Motivation to work independently and within a team.

Training will be given for CAT 4E, CAT 7, and automation installations if required.
