Job description

Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading food manufacturing company in their search for an Automation Engineer to work in their leading facility in Market Drayton.


For the successful Automation Engineer, our client is offering:

  1. Up to £60,000 per annum DOE
  2. 4 on 4 off Day shift
  3. Permanent position
  4. Benefits package including life assurance and health care cover
  5. Overtime available at x1.5 rate

The Role - Automation Engineer:

  1. Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and robotic equipment.
  2. Develop and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  3. Work alongside production teams to identify areas for automation and process improvement.
  4. Program, test, and commission new automation systems and modifications.
  5. Support the maintenance team in diagnosing and repairing automation-related issues.

What our client is looking for in an Automation Engineer:

  1. Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering, Automation or related field
  2. Recognised Engineering apprenticeship - ESSENTIAL
  3. Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment is - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
  4. Strong knowledge of PLCs, ideally Siemens - ESSENTIAL
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  6. Knowledge of health & safety and food industry regulations.
  7. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
