Job Title: Automation / Commissioning Engineer

Location: Remote when not travelling. (60%+ travel to customer sites)

Salary: £55k + company van that can be used for private mileage

Days: 5

Working hours: Flexible during normal working hours, but will occasionally require weekend work and availability for support out of hours (extra pay for out of hours work).

THE ROLE

This is a programming and commissioning role, the main role will be focused on implementing software on our systems and all aspects of install/commissioning at customers sites. This role will likely include approximately 60% of time on customer sites.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

1. To be responsible for programming and commissioning of our systems
2. To assist with customer support visits and calls
3. To meet agreed deadlines for commissioning of equipment and systems

DUTIES

1. Carry out full system commissioning which can include software, mechanical and electrical competence
2. Carry out site installation, software integrations and commissioning
3. Deliver customer training
4. Offer technical support both remotely and on site for engineers and clients

SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY

1. PLC Programming - ideally in structured text - Good understanding and experience
2. Robot Programming - Good understanding and experience
3. Microsoft Excel - Reasonable understanding
4. Microsoft Outlook - Reasonable understanding
5. Microsoft Access - Reasonable understanding
6. App Writing C++, C# - Beneficial

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Positive attitude, prepared for open thinking and change.
2. Able to work as part of a team
3. Good mechanical and electrical engineering aptitude
4. Experience of working with programs for automated machinery
5. Willing to travel all over UK and stay away from home for onsite work (expenses paid +£50 per night)
6. Clean driving license
7. Good general education to at least A Level standard, including Maths and Physics or similar subjects

IDEAL SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Experience with programming PLCs for automated machinery
2. Experience with creating electrical designs for machinery
3. Experience with commissioning machinery
4. Electrical training and qualification
5. KUKA robot programming training and experience
6. Experience with programming robots
