Autism Learning Support Assistant

Location: Wolverhampton

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £13.68 - £16.29 p/h

Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing

Monarch Education are excited to be working with a school in the Erdington area who are seeking a dedicated and passionate Autism Learning Support Assistant.

The specialist school supports children and young people aged 3 to 16 with Autistic Spectrum Condition and other associated learning and communication difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic environment, where you will play a key role in supporting class teachers and other support staff to help provide tailored support for students with autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with autism in accessing the curriculum, providing individual or small group support tailored to their specific needs.
  • Encourage independence by helping students develop life skills, communication, and self-regulation techniques.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, using strategies to help manage behaviour and promote social interaction.
Requirements:

Qualifications are desirable but not essential for this role. Experience is essential for this role.

  • Have previously worked with children with Autism, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Positive and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs.
