Autism Care Assistant for a Young Person P/T @ £12.10/hr in Harrogate - FTE - £23.6k

I'm looking for a Personal Assistant or Care Assistant for my young person with autism who has a speech and language delay but does not exhibit challenging behavior. The role involves providing care every Wednesday after school (3.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.) and an additional 6 hours on either Saturday or Sunday to support her activities in the community or at our house. Extra hours may be available during school holidays. She is a very happy child who enjoys baking, painting, soft play, sensory activities, swimming, riding public transport (bus/trains), and playing in outdoor parks.

Responsibilities
  1. Support social and leisure activities.
  2. Ensure safety and well-being during activities.
  3. Assist with transportation as needed.
Training and Qualifications
  1. Safeguarding Adults/Children.
  2. Food Hygiene.
  3. First Aid.
  4. Hand Hygiene.
  5. Understanding of Autism/Asperger's.
  6. Full UK driving license.
  7. Own personal car.
Schedule, Pay & Hours

Time availability required:

  1. Wednesday: 3.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
  2. Saturday or Sunday: 6 hours (flexible).
  3. Extra hours during school holidays may be available.
