Salary: £22 - £25ph

About Us:
KPI Rail and Infrastructure is a trusted provider of rail infrastructure services, delivering essential solutions that ensure the safety and efficiency of rail operations across the UK. We are currently looking for a skilled Authorised Person to join our Isolation Team, responsible for maintaining the highest safety standards during isolation procedures on live rail sites. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all isolations are carried out efficiently and in full compliance with Network Rail's safety regulations.

Role Overview:
As an Authorised Person for the Isolation Team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the isolation of railway systems to ensure the safety of personnel working on or near live tracks. You will ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with safety protocols, risk assessments, and the client's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the Authorised Person for isolation activities on rail networks, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and protocols.
  2. Issue and manage isolation certificates, ensuring all work is carried out safely and within designated areas.
  3. Supervise the isolation and de-isolation processes, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken to protect workers from electrical, mechanical, and trackside hazards.
  4. Liaise with other rail personnel, including the Control Centre, site supervisors, and engineers, to ensure proper coordination of isolation work.
  5. Ensure all personnel working within isolation areas have the appropriate clearances and certifications.
  6. Undertake regular safety checks and audits to ensure adherence to isolation procedures.
  7. Provide technical support and guidance to teams on-site, helping to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to isolation.
  8. Maintain accurate records and reports for all isolation activities, including the completion of necessary documentation.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Authorised Person certification for isolation work in the rail industry (e.g., AP for Isolation).
  2. Proven experience working on live rail systems in an isolation capacity.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of isolation procedures, risk assessments, and safety standards.
  4. Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and regulations.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
  7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and support teams on-site.
  8. Experience with electrical and mechanical isolation procedures.
  9. Additional qualifications such as COSS (Controller of Site Safety) or ES (Engineering Supervisor) would be advantageous.
  10. First Aid or other relevant safety qualifications.
