Job description

The Firm:

A UK accountancy firm with a strong network of offices across the UK including Newcastle where they are looking to appoint a newly qualified Accountant into the position of Audit Assistant Manager. They work with a wide range of local clients, both businesses and charities, offering a professional service for all of their accounting needs.

The Brief:

Following expansion and significant growth in the local audit market they have created the opportunity for a newly qualified Auditor to join the Newcastle audit team in their first managerial position. This is an exciting chance to elevate your position as a qualified accountant where you will be responsible for planning, performing, and completing the audit process for each assignment.

The Role:

Supporting the Manager and Partnership group within the firm, you will be required to establish relationships with your key client contacts. These can be tailored to your experience but will expose you to both corporate and not-for-profit entities. Leading on audit assignments, you will spend time both on-site as well as working remotely on some audits. You can also spread your time between home and office with flexibility afforded to suit your working week. You will be expected to identify issues and agree resolutions internally, ensuring your Manager/Partner is up to date on job progress. Your previous experience in audit will equip you well to be aware of the commercial aspects of clients' businesses and their impact, alongside the ability to identify and highlight opportunities for the wider firm to undertake further services.

Experience Required:

You will be fully ACA/ACCA qualified with UK audit experience within an accounting firm. You must be able to demonstrate audit and accounts experience from a professional services firm and be used to liaising with clients directly. Naturally, you will have good communication skills and enjoy the interaction this role brings. You must have the capacity to manage projects and deadlines with strong organisational skills.

Benefits:

Working on local clients means you will not be required to undertake long-distance travel or overnight stays. You will have the flexibility to work your week as the role requires, giving you flexibility across home and office. A strong newly qualified salary is on offer alongside professional membership fees paid, private medical insurance, life assurance, generous holidays (plus the option to purchase more), and shared parental leave.
