JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Assist head trainer in all phases of treatment for varsity athletics and the strength & conditioning program in the department of physical education, recreation and athletics.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in diagnosis and treatment of varsity athletic injuries, prevention, recognition, evaluation, care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries/illnesses.
2. Provide coverage for varsity athletic contests, practice sessions and Athletic Training room as assigned.
3. Maintain accurate reports and records.
4. Under the supervision of the head athletic trainer, support the day-to-day operation of the varsity athletics strength and conditioning program and work collaboratively with the strength & conditioning group.
5. Help design, implement, and monitor strength & conditioning programs for athletic teams out of season.
6. Oversee policies and procedures as well as equipment for the varsity strength & conditioning program and facilities.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in athletic training; Masters preferred.
2. Additional degrees and/or certification in strength & conditioning preferred.
3. 1 year experience minimum; 3-5 years' experience preferred.
4. Massachusetts State licensure and BOC Certification.
5. AED/First aid and CPR certified.
6. College athletic training and strength & conditioning experience preferred.
7. The ability to work weekends, holidays and evenings. Potential for overnight travel.
8. Ability to lift 50 – 75 pounds.
9. Valid driver’s license.

This is a 10-month position with a salary range up to $50k. Please include a resume and cover letter for consideration.
