JOB TITLE: Associate, Trade and Working Capital Distribution - 12 month family leave cover
LOCATION(S): London
HOURS: Full time - 35 hours per week.
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About this opportunity

The Corporate Trade Distribution team is a specialist distribution team conducting asset distribution, asset acquisition and managing credit risk insurance across all trade and working capital products. The team works alongside our Trade and Working Capital Sales team who provide our corporate clients with solutions across traditional trade, open account (including receivables, payables, invoice finance and asset backed lending), structured trade lending (inc. commodity finance) and asset finance.

We are looking for a highly motivated Associate to work within the team and report directly to the Head of Asset Distribution and lead all activities related to corporate distribution. This role will form a key connectivity between our relationship banks, the corporate coverage business, Credit, Trade Product and Trade Services team.

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Work with the Trade Director to define the sales strategy and business plans for allocated portfolio and secure strategic internal support from partners to identify and satisfy customer needs in the most appropriate way.
  • Actively maintain product relationships within the portfolio of existing and agreed target clients.
  • Identify customer needs to develop, structure and review proposals to meet customer requirements. Recognise opportunities to develop further income and economic profit, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Meeting Group risk and profitability requirements to deliver targeted growth in the TWC business in terms of Income and Assets.
  • Maintaining a full understanding of our product sets including but not limited to traditional trade, open account (including receivables, payables, invoice finance and asset backed lending), structured trade and commodity finance and asset finance.
  • Prepare and submit credit applications in conjunction with Coverage, aligned with defined strategy and engage with colleagues in Product, Delivery, Lending Execution and Risk as appropriate.
  • Develop, implement and execute client sales and product relationship calling plans, with the ability to confidently discuss technical and operational aspects of transactions.
  • Identify product gaps or new product opportunities to influence the development of key new product service initiatives and more efficient delivery channels.

What you’ll need!

  • Technical understanding of Trade and Working Capital products.
  • Experience at managing, originating and providing solutions to Large Corporate clients (defined as >£1bn annual turnover).
  • Shown success in Trade Sales and Business Development.
