As an Associate Specialist in Acute Internal Medicine, you will be based at hospital site, providing care to acute medicine patients through management of a ward with junior support and outpatient setting. You will be expected to participate in teaching and mentoring of junior medical staff, medical students and specialist nurses.

• Clinical Decision-Making: Make independent decisions on admissions, transfers, and discharges while working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Emergency Procedures: Perform life-saving procedures and manage critical conditions (e.g., cardiac arrests).
• Supervision & Teaching: Supervise junior staff, provide guidance, and train healthcare professionals.
• Service Development: Contribute to developing protocols, service improvement, and audits for quality care.
• Communication: Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Risk Management: Participate in clinical governance, manage incidents, and ensure patient safety.
• Out-of-Hours Work: Handle on-call and out-of-hours responsibilities, leading during emergencies.
• Liaison with Primary Care: Coordinate with GPs and community services for smooth patient discharges and follow-up care.
• Professional Development: Engage in CPD, training, and staying updated with medical advancements.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the medical field - Acute Medicine preferred

QualificationsEssential
