Closing Date: Wednesday 19 March 2025We are seeking a Director of Clinical Legal Education, who will join Lincoln Law School at an exciting time. We are in the process of implementing a new undergraduate curriculum, with refreshed academic content and a greater focus on skills and employability, of which our clinical legal education will play a vital part. We also seek to enhance the range of clinical legal activities and pro bono opportunities, with the ultimate objective of making these available to every student, should they wish to engage in them.
The Law School has several highly successful clinical legal education opportunities in place for our students, including the Law Clinic, and a Law Placement module. The Law Clinic has recently had the opportunity to move its client facing work into the University's Multi-Professional Hub, based on Lincoln High Street, enabling the service to be closer to the local community and to enhance its impact in the provision of legal services to serve unmet legal need in the region.
We are seeking a candidate with significant experience of legal practice and/or running a law clinic or equivalent clinical legal education who can build upon and expand the existing opportunities and work with colleagues and stakeholders to develop new opportunities for our students. We are also keen to develop a Mediation Service in the Law School, offering clinical legal education opportunities to our students and provision to those who are seeking mediation services.
You will also demonstrate the ability to build effective networks with other providers of clinical legal education, law firms at the local, regional and national level and other employers, NGOs and charitable bodies to support the effective delivery of the Clinic's work.
