About us

Located within the faculty of the Institute of Education, the Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) is a distinct teaching department, which offers a range of degree preparation and foundation courses for international students, as well as a diverse portfolio of summer schools, Language Modules for undergraduate students and Evening Courses for UCL students, staff and the wider community. The Evening Courses programme teaches the skills to communicate effectively across eight different languages from beginner to advanced level, attracting a mixture of students, academics and professionals and creating a varied and dynamic learning environment.

About the role

The post is available from January 2025. The salary is UCL Grade (£43,124–£51,610) per annum pro rata, including London Allowance). Please note: this is a part-time post offered on an open-ended seasonal basis. Classes take place between 17:00-21:00 Monday to Thursday. The number of classes taught per week will determine the fractionality of the contract and the post holder. Salary payments are suspended during the Easter and summer break. Duties cover classroom or online teaching and related academic activities such as lesson preparation, setting homework and basic administration. The post holder will implement the syllabus and contribute to the development of the course, as well as monitor student attendance.
