Job Description

As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and, most of all, fun. We are excited to be rebooting the much-loved Fable franchise and are expanding our diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre.

As Associate Lead Environment Artist, you’ll oversee a specialist area within the Environment Art team, working in conjunction with the Art Directors and Lead Environment Artist to deliver work for the team and ensure our high-quality bar is realised. You will also have experience in the technical aspects of your craft as well as being comfortable communicating with technical departments.

As a Lead, you will independently manage, inspire, and lead our Environment Art team, ensuring top-quality Environment art assets. You'll collaborate with the Art Director and Art Producer, plan and execute high-quality artwork while maintaining the technical standards. Your industry-leading expertise, in-depth knowledge of the project's technology, game design, and constraints will play a key role in shaping our artwork.

This is a permanent role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa, with a hybrid work model in place. Relocation assistance is available if required.

As an Associate Lead Environment Artist, you will motivate and inspire your specialist team to maintain and push visual quality while delivering within the production needs. You will manage the Environment Artists within your specialist area, including holding regular check-ups, setting objectives, looking after the wellbeing of the team, and providing the support that might be needed in their daily work. You will be the point of contact for your team to drive the visual quality in conjunction with the Environment Art Lead and Art Director.

As a Lead Environment Artist, you will additionally lead and manage the Environment Art team, overseeing their work to ensure the delivery of high-quality assets. You will foster collaboration with other departments to ensure consistency and quality across all aspects of the game. Act as hiring manager building the team depending on the project needs together with the Environment Art Lead and Art Producer. Regularly provide feedback and coaching to the team members, supporting their skill development and improving the quality of their work.
