Make your mark on the Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory team

AIG’s Global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs (GLCR) department is comprised of attorneys and other professionals providing high-quality advisory and transactional support with integrity and objectivity across all parts of the organization. How you will create an impact

This role will serve as the Corporate Administrative Services – Legal team’s lead lawyer for AIG’s procurement activities in the region, and report to AIG’s Vice President, Head of Corporate Administrative Services – Legal.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

1. Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide variety of IT and non-IT procurement transactions in the UK and EMEA.
2. Responsible for management of day-to-day inquiries in the region regarding interpretation of vendor agreements.
3. Engaging and managing outside counsel in the region to assist with drafting, negotiating and interpreting vendor agreements.
4. Working closely with internal business clients and GLCR colleagues across the region and in the U.S. to identify, assess, and advise on – and structure and negotiate AIG’s contracts to ensure that our contracts reflect – various regulatory questions and requirements regarding outsourcing rules in the region.

What you’ll need to succeed

1. Solicitor qualified to practice law in England and Wales.
2. 3+ years of law firm or in-house experience with a concentration on procurement transactions.
3. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
4. Understanding of UK/EMEA outsourcing rules, e.g., the Digital Operational Resilience Act and GDPR.
5. A leader who collaborates effectively with colleagues at all levels of the Company, including senior executives, and across different functions and countries to drive optimal outcomes.
6. The ability to work well under pressure and independently, with demonstrated time and change management skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
7. Sound judgment, good business sense, and the ability to provide tailored and practical legal advice.
