An exciting opportunity has arisen within our SEND Service for a passionate Associate Education Officer to join our supportive team!

The (0-25) SEND Service aims to enhance outcomes for children, young people, and families by providing inclusive support within their communities. Our goal is to ensure access to support where it's needed and eliminate barriers where appropriate.

As an Associate Education Officer, you will play a strategic role in reviewing learners with Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) who are currently in INMSS/ISP or SEND commissioned AP packages or close to completing the Outcomes in their EHCPs. Working alongside other professionals, you will assess learner needs and make informed recommendations to secure local, cost-effective provision and placement outcomes.

Main Duties of the Job

Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in a relevant field or be able to demonstrate considerable experience of working with children and young people with SEND, ideally within a statutory environment. A strong understanding of current and developing national policies related to children's services is essential, including the Children & Families Act (2014), Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), and Keeping Children Safe (2020). This role will require significant experience of working in partnership with children, young people, and their families as well as extensive experience supporting and advising schools, educational settings, and other practitioners, including health and social care teams.
