Job Summary

Associate Director in the UK Banks, Broker Dealers and FinTech’s Coverage group, supporting a team of Relationship Managers across both the Origination and Inbound portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the origination and client relationship management for a portfolio of BBD (Banks, Broker Dealers) and Fintech clients.
  2. Provide direct sales support to the Senior Banker/Banker to originate new business and in partnership with the Senior Banker/Banker is jointly accountable for client revenues/profitability.
  3. Understand the range of banking products and services offered across CIB.
  4. Establish connectivity and deepen engagement of senior client contacts.
  5. Maintain a strong working relationship with Credit, Legal, Compliance and other key internal stakeholders.
  6. Support the development and implementation of the client strategy for the portfolio of Banks and Fintechs, as identified through the Account Planning process.
  7. Accountability for delivering financial performance objectives (revenues, costs, RoRWA, etc.).
  8. Accountability for all other objectives for the management and development of client relationships, specifically compliance (AML, CDD) and credit risk.
  9. Proactive assistance to the Senior Banker/Banker with transactional support on new business origination activities i.e. client research, pitch books, industry leads etc.; including coordination with network and product.
  10. Client analysis, reporting on post origination activities; client meeting documentation; briefing notes.
  11. Support Senior Banker/Banker on sales discipline requirements i.e. Account Planning process; pipeline maintenance; client call reports; preparation of deal approval submissions.
  12. New transactions: deal execution support, document negotiation, coordination with Product Sales and Client Management team on documentation matters and deal drawdown, fee booking and revenue recognition.
  13. Proactive management of portfolio including client and product partner engagement to ensure limit utilization and ensure the accuracy of revenue/returns.
Our Ideal Candidate
  1. Bachelor degree in Banking or Finance preferred.
  2. Extensive experience in banking or other relevant environment with client selling/pitching experience.
  3. Broad product knowledge; deal/origination focus.
  4. Ability to establish strong relationships with clients and internal functions to drive revenues.
  5. Identify opportunities and solutions for clients, oriented with good communication skills.
  6. Works well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  7. Risk & AML certified as stipulated by Bank policy.
  8. Languages: Required: English. Preferable: additional languages from within SCB Footprint Markets.
