The Company:

I am working with a leading planning consultancy in York that is seeking an experienced and ambitious Associate Director to join their team. Reporting to the Planning Directors, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a forward-thinking and dynamic company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning and design projects, ensuring successful delivery from start to finish.
  2. Provide strategic advice to clients on planning matters, offering innovative and tailored solutions.
  3. Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications and related documentation.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent service and satisfaction.
  5. Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  6. Identify business development opportunities, prepare proposals, and contribute to the company's growth.
  7. Represent the consultancy at meetings, presentations, and public consultations.
  8. Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.

About You:

  1. Degree in Town Planning, with Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.
  2. At least 8 years of relevant experience in planning and design consultancy.
  3. A strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant legislation.
  4. Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  6. Strategic thinker with the ability to provide innovative solutions.
  7. Proficiency in relevant software is desirable but not essential.
